Stock hood clearance
Ok folks,I have a 91 z28 with a 383 stroker and Holley 650 on top of a PCM high rise intake..what's everyone running for an air cleaner? The 14" element that I have doesn't fit under the stock hood..thinking I might have to go with an aftermarket hood..if I do,I plan on going with the ss style hood..

Re: Stock hood clearance
The old Corvette L-88 air cleaner will give you the biggest drop that you can get from any air cleaner. It's the only way you can run an Edelbrock RPM intake with a factory hood. So if your intake is no higher than Edelbrock's you should be fine.

Re: Stock hood clearance
7501 AirGap Edelbrock, 1/2" spacer, basic 14" dropped air cleaner under a stock Camaro hood.
If you have a plain stock hood you can cut out a circle shape out of the inner layer of the metal to help clear.
