Painting inner fender liners and headlight trim

I was wondering what you guys think of what I should paint the inner fenders. I don't have a lot of money and figured going with something like Duplicolor bedliner spray would be a good idea. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/shw-tr250

And I also was wondering what color you firebird guys would paint the headlight fairings and turn signal housings? I was thinking semi-gloss would be good. pic of what I'm talking about:

(yes that pic is from motobooks' TTA resto, he's awesome. check out his threads)

Re: Painting inner fender liners and headlight trim

Use SEM trim black for the headlight trim. Make sure you clean it well and use an adhesion promoter.

Thanks, I needed some SEM interior paint too, so I ordered them together. Will Bullydog adhesion promoter work? I have some left over from when I dyed my interior.

Anybody know if the bedliner is a good choice?

Yes, Bulldog Adhesion Promoter is fine.

I like RustOlem semi-gloss in the quart can for the under carriage. You can get it for about 9 dollars a quart from Walmart, You can brush it on like POR15 and it'll lay out nice, or you can thin it with 5-10% mineral spirits and spray it through a gun.

mineral spirits can slow dry times considerably(higher chance for runs). Xylene and naptha work good, you can find xylene at most local paint shops.

Re: Painting inner fender liners and headlight trim

Thanks for the suggestions, I may try the Rustoleum semi-gloss stuff. Is it better to brush it on or spray it?

Re: Painting inner fender liners and headlight trim

Are you thinking along these lines of painting the headlight bezels?

Yes, those are the pieces I am talking about, and also the turn signal lenses. I am going to use the SEM trim paint, as some other people suggested, it seems like the best color to go with. Your car looks great btw, it's coming along very nicely!

And I just found out that my turn signal housings have a lot of white over spray from an earlier respray (before I got it) on the orange lenses. One tab on each housing is also broken, so I'll need to get some new ones. It seems like a waste to refinish broken pieces.

I guess SEM paints are great, since everyone's talking about them.
Wish I could get them here.

Thanks, Transaero! Still got a lot of work to do... and so little time to do it all.

One of my turn signal housings is cracked as well. Depending on the parts that are broken, you may be able to use some JBweld or similar to fix that.
To get rid of the overspray, just try some 1500 or 2500 grit sanding paper and give the lense a rub, then polish it up
