Headlight motor question

Car: 1988 Pontiac Transam GTA Notchback
Engine: 2003 Chevy 5.3 Vortec (325 cu)

Headlight motor question
Evening TGO, and Happy New Year!
I have a question about headlight motors like the title says. My motors were refurbished a couple of years ago and the bushings are fine. I took the bucket apart to paint it and naturally the motor housing too. Well on both LH and RH, the little screws broke. One I managed to salvage and return to a temporary state of working order, but the other I am not so sure about.
Being that it would be more likely to find a 4th gen in a junkyard in my area, I was thinking whether or not 4th gen motors would bolt up to and function with the third gen buckets??

Are you talking about the two screws that attach the housing with the magnets to the housing that holds the gear? If so, those screws are known for twisting off very easily. The easiest fix is just to drill out the old screws and put a new screw and lock-nut through it.

No the ones that hold the motor to the assembly. And on the one that I was able to salvage temporarily... One of the holes for the gear cover.
One I was able to drill a hole through, the other the drill bit snapped in the hole- had to use a cheap one cause the good one was dull

Yes, grind off any remaining screw flush, then center punch and drill through. I include a pair of slightly longer screws and nuts with the TDS 209280 Deluxe Headlight Repair Kit because these screws often snap off their heads due to corrosion from how the headlight motor is oriented.
Call me, I can supply a good used headlight actuator housing LH or RH and screws and nuts.
In case you want to purchase the screws locally instead, they are a 8-32 x 1/2" ss washer-head screw.
