Lumina Z34 Hood (Bonnet) Vents

I've seen about four mentions of installing the Lumina Z34 vents but not any pictures been popping up. So I got my used ones this week and put them on top of my hood too see how it would look. Personally, I always liked these vents ever since I test drove a then new 1994 Lumina Z34 and they seem to look nice on my car.

What do you think?

Son, if the General wanted you to have louvers in your hood, he'd have built you an Iroc.

Shouldn't they be switched so they match the lines of the hood? I'm not sure they really "fit" on a thirdgen, but then I'm a bit of a purist zealot.

IMO I think they would look better if you swapped them left for right so the angles on the vents are pointing the other way. It just looks backwards in the pic.

You know, when that hood (car) is painted up they would look really good on the car. I always liked them on the Z34 back in the day too, made the car look kinda badas* without being too much. That's the beauty of our cars, the originality of each owner. Maybe like Jbuchanan says, invert them. But I say they would look really cool on your car!

Re: Lumina Z34 Hood (Bonnet) Vents

I agree they would "look" better is switched so the upper angle of the vent matches that of the hood at the windshield, but this would point the outlets inwards.Which would look funny & maybe not function as well.

Would they fit is rotated 1/4 turn, so the longer side faces fr/bk with the outlet facing rearward.Functionally, i think thats the best way so long as theres room.Or maybe move the to the center, but as far apart as possible.

I kinda like the last pic the best, the vents look more streamlined, the lines of the vent (frame) going towards the back. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Lumina Z34 Hood (Bonnet) Vents

Definitely the last pic.Does the lumi have anything under the vents to keep debris/water out? Do you have that?
I think you would also want/need the surrounding sheetmetal to correctly mount these.

Yes, I got the water drip trays with them when they arrived. They have a screen attached to them as well. I was thinking about finding an old lumina hood and cutout the metal sections to graft onto my hood like you mentioned.
