LED headlights

Started to work on a LED conversion for my headlights.

Used Hella H4 conversion bulbs and some 100 watt (50 watt each) LED H4's.from Amazon from Seallight. The Sylvania silverstar headlights are rated at I beleive 55 watts each so these draw slightly less power..... hope therws no issues!

I used the Seallight 9005 and 9006 on my Camry and they are excellent at night. the 9006 i use are rated at 20,000 lumens.

These H4s are rated at 18,000 Lumens

Re: LED headlights

Passenger side is the stock halogen from i believe 1987. Its not a silverstar H6054.... I had those in my truck but they blew out within a few years......

Driver side is the new LED / Hella adapter

Re: LED headlights

You'll need to repin your connector or get an adapter to make them work just right. Stock doesn't switch between high and low beam correctly. It's an easy fix, though. There's an article in the tech section about it, but basically just swap the left and right pins (looking at the three prongs like a 'U').

Do you have fog lights? Do they work right with them? I only ask because mine are a bit wonky. I'm still trying to sort it out.

i’m a little confused? I read the article. Is that for camaros?

im finding lots of comflicting articles on how H6054 headlights and h4 are wored..some show the h4 and h6054 bulbs have the same pinouts, others dont?

i see that the lights do switch from low to high.

Re: LED headlights

I thought mine were switching correctly at first. They do turn the high beam on, but the low is still on as well. Instead of connecting the high to ground, you're connecting the high to the low, which ends up powering both, presumably back feeding to somewhere. It didn't really *seem* to be a problem, but I fixed it just in case. The heatsink on the LEDs isn't built for all of the emitters to be on at the same time. The article isn't very clear on that (and I think one of the diagrams is mislabeled). Switching the black and green wires in the plugs fixed it for me.

On the fogs: turning them on turns my high beams on. The fog lights don't come on, and the high beam indicator is only weakly lit. It's weird. Of course trying to search just leads me to threads about how to have fogs and high beams at the same time.

thx for the info. Do you recall which wires you switched? I see ground, low and high beam.

for the fogs, what brand did you use? It seems like its back feeding power? Maybe a different band will work better? So far i like these seal lights
