Hi. I’m in the process of a ground up restoration of my 82 Trans Am. As you can imagine I have a huge supply of fasteners removed along the way. I’m using the assembly manual and it would be incredibly useful to find a method to get descriptions of the various fasteners shown in the manual. they all have GM parts codes (e.g. 11505810) but it’s very hard to find any info online to describe what size/length of bolt they are? I can find some, but not very many.

Any help/links/suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks. I've got the assembly manual (and Service manual). I havent ever seen a parts manual? I don't suppose you (or anyone else) has a digital copy thay can share (or post a link to)?

Get an auveco parts manual and you will also be able to picture reference the parts

I had a GM service manual for a 2002 Camaro that listed the bolt sizes/threads but I don't know if they did that for every year.

When I did my TA over I used these,

Both were available on Ebay,they helped out really well and as far as the bolts and fasteners ,I used a web site called "Clips & Fasteners" and if you had the P/N the site gives you a very good description of the part.

If you want to restore it to factory perfection you need to reuse as many bolts off the car as possible. you can even go as far as to have them rephosphated if that is a word. the original factory markings on the bolts are long gone and if you buy from a place like auvco (name?) you won't get same markings, but they will be close in appearance less the stamp i.e a little S or what ever.. I've never been able to figure out who the manufacturer(s) was/were but it would be really interesting to know. any rusty bolts that I've come across I soak them in oil and clean them up, then coat them in grease or use an airplane anit-rust spray to make sure they never rust again. or at least that is the intention.

when you get done doing all that, put a whole house dehumidifier in your garage. we can't preserve our bodies, but we sure can try with our cars dammit!
