Dam power boster

I have a 90 V6 RS camaro with t roof and auto as the only options. I noticed that when ever I steped on the brake I would get a nice big vacume woosh. I figger i blew the vacume brake booster and now i need a replacment. I started looking around the junk yards and found that there is a few cars with the brake bosster but the guys there said that the pre 87 booster will not work. I am looking for advice on weather I can use just any third gen vacume booster or need to pony up the bucks to get a new one?

Go to Ebay first. I got one from a 89 Firebird and fit just fine. Most stuff like that are interchangable, but do your research first so ya don't waste money on something you can't use. I got lucky and got the booster and master cylinder for $30 total. The guy did a good job in cleaning it up. BEWARE....the nut on the right top side of the steering column is a beotch!!! I had to push the driver seat all the way back and recline it fully AND lay in it upside down just to get oriented to get it. After that, it ain't all bad. I did'nt put that nut on the top right stud on...I threw it away and 3 studs hold the booster on just fine. Hope this helps.
