Hydraboost or c4?

I'm drawn on wether to go with a hydraboost/4th gen master setup or corvette booster/master. I'd like a very responsive & firm setup which I won't get with hydraboost, but my plans include heavy turbocharging and I don't want to run a vacuum pump. I also plan on swapping in a rack & pinion which will put extra demand on on the power steering pump with hydraboost. Oppinions?

Re: Hydra-boost or c4?

go hydra i don't know what you know but every hydra vehicle Ive driven stopped firmly and was almost excessively responsive. The rack isn't going to draw on the power steering system to much more then stock.

Hydraboost just has a different feel to me, kinda like improperly bled brakes. Of course I've only driven 6000lbs trucks with hydraboost, I'm sure it feels different in a light car.

Re: Hydraboost or c4?

think future..if youre going big engine low vacuum get hydroboost...anythign less than 15" vacuum counts a vacuum booster out..you cant use reseve canisters because all that does is store up morevacuum which isnt enough to start with...say you had 10" at idle.you can have 3 canister and all u have is 3 canisters with 10" vacuum..still wont help......
i currently use a vacuum pump and its so so..for basic street driving its ok..uses a lot of voltage abut pulls good vacuum..im going hydro next year

as far as tasking system haaaaaaaaa that 6000 truck you drive uses same system and workes just fine and yore askng it to do more than your camaro will ever be asked. the only thing you may want to try to do before installing stuff is find a power steering pump with a resovior with 2 returns..most desiels with hydroboost have them.theres discussion that you should use 2 seperate returns....maybe maybe not. hydrodyne is a big supplier and they just t-off their return and say its fine.

Re: Hydraboost or c4?

I was just going to braze another fitting on my stock pump. I was looking at the specs and it looks like a good match as-is. I already have a hydroboost off an astro waiting to go, I just need to mess with the pedal rod and get a mc.
