Brake rotors, USA made? Possible?
Tried the search, no help. Did a complete brake job on the 88 a couple years ago, new rotors, all NAPA parts. Now with about 10k miles on it the front rotors are so warped I can hardly hang on to the steering wheel in a hard stop. Just looking at the rotors I can see the actual thickness of the outer disc metal varies by about 1/8" around the rotor. Terrible Chinese junk for serious money there. So question is - is it even possible to buy USA made rotors these days. Looking at Raybestos 5064 & 5064R, Wagner BD60627, Bendix PRT1233 (Global = cheap?), AC Delco 18A87A - all are front hub/rotor for 10 1/2 dia. Any of these look to be quality parts? Sure open to any other suggestions at reasonable cost too.

digging through the shelves at my part time job, i can say wagner rotors are for the most part not north american made. bendix rotors last i checked were (canada/us). not sure about the rest.

Re: Brake rotors, USA made? Possible?
I don't think any of it is made here anymore. I have also found that the cheaper lines of parts are the same ones as the more expensive brands, just reboxed. This is especially true with front end parts. I just bought a set of tie rod ends. I compared the cheaper brand to the Moog brand in the store, and it was the same exact part - right down to the bag it was wrapped in. This doesn't apply to every part. I compared stabilizer bar links for my 1996 Cougar and they were different. But all this leads me to believe that most of these parts are being made in the same Chinese factory and boxed in to different brands - both cheap off brands and expensive stuff like Moog.

Took a chance and bought two rotors from, of all places, Amazon. These were AC Delco 18A87 (no suffix) and were actually made in Canada. Boxes were dated from 03 so they've been laying around for a good while somewhere I guess. This whole situation is absurd. Wish to heck I'd kept my old rotors which were not really bad to start with.

most people have no idea who/where "stuff" is made. when i worked for GM(delphi) we made parts for toyota, saab, volvo. anyone who needed steering components.....plant closed up a few years ago. take "carhartt" clothing, no longer any of their clothes made here, just contracted out to clothing contractors in other countries. its all about the licensing.

And they go from paying union wages and benefits to paying kids 50 cents a day to sew up the stuff, prices stay the same though.
Put on the new rotors today and I'm really kind of shocked at how poorly the casting looks on the others. Sure can see why they developed runout and vibration.
