Stupid Important Question. How do I get the Drums off of the rear, and discs on? HELP

Trying to take the drums off of my rear end. Do I have to take the diff appart and pull out the axel? I figure that there must be an easier way. I'm doing this right now so a prompt response helps. THANK YOU!

yes you will need to remove your diff cover and c-clips to remove the axles.

If you're lucky, you won't have to cut the big bolt that holds the backing plate to the axle flange on the drum setup. Just know it is really touch to back it out.

Yah. Looks like that's what's going to have to happen. That thing is really stuck back there. I'm going to try to hammer at it later and loosen it up.

That'd be pretty tough, as easy as popping the axles out is.

Are you saying you're doing a disc brake conversion? It sometimes depends on what brand/type of conversion you're doing. Some require axle removal some don't.

I can't imagine how a drum to disc conversion would work without taking out the axles to change the backing plates.
