drum to disc rear end swap, need parts

I just put a new rear end in my car last night, posi/disc brake out of an 89, The passenger ebrake cable is no good, anyone have a used one they would like to sell? Also I have read that I have to swap out the proportioning valve, where can I find one of those? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The above info should be a start. BTW, if you're looking for used parts, our classifieds might be the best avenue.

Best of luck with your swap.

Re: drum to disc rear end swap, need parts

So i ordered what i thought was the right brake cable, but it has a ball on the end of it, instead of a square with a hole for the hook to go into. I was told my rear end came out of a gta, but no idea what year. Is there a split year on the tyes of disc brake cables that are used? And where would i find the hook style cable?

Hey Zenish, just curious how long it took you to get the LS1 cables from Flynbye. I need a set of his 3rd gen LS1 e-brake conversion cables, but not sure I want to deal with it if it's gonna take months to receive them. How long did yours take to arrive? Thanks.

Has anyone experienced "customer satisfaction" from that Site? All looks like good stuff, but worst Site EVER, not even an email address.

Re: drum to disc rear end swap, need parts

Thanks for the reply Zenish! That at least reassures me somewhat! I'm still on the fence about actually putting the LS1 brakes on the rearend though. I run 15 inch rims in the winter for my snow tires, and from what others have posted, I'm pretty sure 15 inch wheels won't clear the LS1 brakes. So I may just keep the original PBR's on there for now. However, on the other hand, maybe I ought to go ahead and order the ebrake cables now, just so I'll have them when and if I decide to swap the other brakes on some day. Knowing my luck, if I hold off on ordering them, when the time comes they may not even be available anymore. I do have an extra set of 16 inch Iroc rims, so maybe the next time I need to order a new set of snow tires I'll buy 16 inchers, and upgrade the brakes then. The 15 inch rims I've got my snow tires on are actually the kinda hard to find 88-90, double line Iroc style. They look nice and the other thing I like about them is you can rotate them front to back, unlike the 16 inch Iroc rims.
