Rear Drum Rattle

I hope I'm not the only one who's had this problem.... While driving there is a constant rattle coming from the rear. When I pull the e brake the rattle goes away for the most part. The brakes just got rebuilt and the cables are not hitting anything underneath the car. I might just start with replacing the e brake cables and see if that fixes anything as it seems like my brake handle is much easier to pull than normal. Does anyone agree with that as a starting place or have a better idea?

I would start by pulling the drums and inspecting everything before I started throwing parts at it. If a return spring or hold down spring came off and is floating around in there, that could be causing your noise.

I'd start by just adjusting em up until you can JUST BARELY still get the drums on.

Of course while doing that you'll have the drums off, so you can check for fallen-out parts and such as that.

Re: Rear Drum Rattle

Thank you guys for the suggestions as I tried those to no avail. What I did find was that someone had tightened up my zip ties holding my parking brake cables up from my exhaust. The slight pull on the cables were actually just barely setting the brakes causing the rattle that I was hearing. Been dealing with this for months and it turns out to be as silly as that.
