As for the Camaro itself, I bought it in November '06 after it had been setting for 6mo-1yr. It has 181,000 miles and is Very straight. A/C, Tilt, Cruise, PW, PL, T-tops (with bag) It was originally a blue color, but has been recently repainted to a nice black. It looks like it was painted just before the 305 died, within the last year or so I'd say, still has some tape residue around the windows. Paint is in very nice condition. I have not had a chance to clean up the interior since I towed it home, so what you see is what you get. No radio and the dash pad is cracked, otherwise it appears in good shape. I do not know if the T-tops leak or not, but the rubbers look good. I have never driven this car, ever. I bought this car with a non-running 305 in it (head gasket blew). I was told by the previous owner that the engine and transmission had been rebuilt and then the car was driven for about a year when the head gasket blew. I gave the busted 305 away to a buddy who was going to rebuild it. He said the cylinders still had a nice cross hatch pattern in them, so it looks like it had indeed been rebuilt at one point.
Video of Engine Running:
The car looks and sounds really nice, but I have run out of time for this project. I'm starting a new job soon and need a 4dr to drive back and forth ASAP. The car starts and runs good as you can see in the video above, but needs some fine-tuning on the carb/timing. This engine should easily put out between 375 to 400hp and has 0 miles on it. Car is located at my dad's shop near Vinita, OK , but I am in Tulsa.
Ok, Absolute, rock bottom, has to go price: $3,900.
There's almost $6,000 of just parts in this car as well as all of time and effort it took to build it. I have to get myself into a 4dr in the next 2 weeks.
It is a really sweet ride, but it's beyond me how you could do something like that to the hood? Without that tacked on quasi-scoop resembling thing this would be a clean-*** bitchin car. It sucks too, cause I got approved for a loan, been looking for a new car and I live in the far north east part of Texas. I've really been trying to look past the hood but I don't think I can.
Heh, true. The only reason the hood got a hole in it was because at the time I was trying to get the stock TBI system to work and needed the hood clearance. In the end though the TBI system would not work and I ended up switching to the carb. The hood is just a cheap peal and stick job. If you want a nice cowl hood scoop it'd be easy to pull this one off, or you can get a nice used hood for around $100, or you can even get a fiberglass one for around $3-400. Either way, the hood is 4 bolts
I don't have any pictures of the underside, but I've been under it plenty swapping the engine/trans in and out. It's an average southern car. No rust to speak of other than light surface rust on the axle pumpkin.
