Car: 1986 Camaro Z28
Engine: 305 4bbl
86 Camaro Z28
305, 700-R4 as far as I know. Runs when it feels like, I'm so tired of trying to do anything with this car. I just want it gone. I'm looking for $1000 cash obo.
Pics are located here:

First the problems:
a) Needs new front pads+rotors.
b) Front skirt (whatever it's called, the gray piece that is closest to the ground) is gone.
c) Hatch lid is out of alignment slightly.
d) Hood is a pain to close (the latch is misaligned).
e) Tranny has intermittent delayed shifting (engages to drive just fine, but sometimes doesn't shift soon enough in 1st).
f) Mileage is unknown. I bought the car with the impression it has around 121k on it...after carfaxing it, it turns out it's much more like to have 212k instead. Title has a "mileage exceeded mechanical limits" marking on it (odometer rollover).
g) Tach partially works, fuel may now work. Wipers sometimes workOdometer/speedometer does work. Dimmer doesn't work correctly as well (installed a new switch but haven't fastened it all), and the key pulls out of the ignition
h) T-Tops leak a bit.
i) Passenger seat belt holder (the plastic piece on the headrest) came off.
j Needs a new battery
k) Floorpan needs a piece of metal welded in, or replaced all together. See the pics; look for the picture that has wood on the floor, that's what needs fixed. Carpet needs replaced there as well.
l) Dashpad, is cracked I'm guessing due to sun exposure. Dashpad is currently out along with the cluster.
As of right now, that's all the problems I am aware of/can think of. So, the good things:
a) Year-old paint.
b) Glued to the road. Whenever you corner with this, you literally feel glued to the road. I love that feeling.
c) Would make a great project car, save for the bodywork that will be needed.
d) Tires are only a couple years old, with about 400 miles on them
e) Front-end steering linkage replaced a year ago (idler arm, tie rods).
g) Radiator was replaced a year ago. Please note that transmission hose (not hardline) was used to reconnect the tranny to the radiator. Does not leak there, so no worries.
h) Muffler+tail pipes were replaced a year ago.
i) Comes with the leather t-top bag.
j) Carburetor was rebuilt, and a tuneup was done, however I can't keep it running anymore.
THIS CAR WILL NEED TO BE TOWED HOME. Selling for 1K now without any additional parts. Will make a nice summer project!

305, 700-R4 as far as I know. Needs (and I mean NEEDS) a tuneup, unless you enjoy smelling like fumes :P

First the problems:
a) Needs new front pads+rotors.
b) Rust in the t-top area. Probably will need to replace the bar, I'm not sure what to do with it.
c) Left rear quarter is dented. Left front fender has two dents in it.
d) Front skirt (whatever it's called, the gray piece that is closest to the ground) is gone.
e) Hatch lid is out of alignment slightly.
f) Hood is a pain to close (the latch is misaligned).
g) Tranny has intermittent delayed shifting (engages to drive just fine, but sometimes doesn't shift soon enough in 1st).
h) Mileage is unknown. I bought the car with the impression it has around 121k on it...after carfaxing it, it turns out it's much more like to have 212k instead.
i) Tach doesn't work, fuel gauge doesn't work. Wipers sometimes work. Odometer/speedometer does work.
j) T-Tops slowly leak (probably due to the rust issue). It is a very slow leak though. One of those leaks you don't see unless you walk away for a while.
k) Passenger seat belt holder (the plastic piece on the headrest) came off.
l) Will need a new battery soon.
m) Floorpan needs a piece of metal welded in, or replaced all together. See the pics; look for the picture that has wood on the floor, that's what needs fixed. Carpet needs replaced there as well.
n) Dashpad, is cracked I'm guessing due to sun exposure.
As of right now, that's all the problems I am aware of/can think of. So, the good things:
a) Fresh paint (a week old). There is a fishhole on the drivers side a-pillar though.
b) Runs. That's always a plus eh?
c) Glued to the road. Whenever you corner with this, you literally feel glued to the road. I love that feeling.
d) Would make a great project car, save for the bodywork that will be needed.
e) Tires aren't that old, a year or so. Has a few hundred miles on them.
f) Front-end steering linkage replaced (idler arm, tie rods).
g) Radiator was replaced. Please note that transmission hose (not hardline) was used to reconnect the tranny to the radiator. Does not leak there, so no worries.
h) Muffler+tail pipes were replaced.
i) Comes with the leather t-top bag.
j) Will come with PARTS. I'll throw in bolt-on subframe connectors, spark plugs, distributor cap/rotor, multi-function turn signal lever, a set of wiper blades (put these on before you even think about driving in the rain), and whatever else I can find that I had for this car. I think I had a dimmer switch, as well as other miscellaneous pieces, but I'll have to dig around to make sure.
Make some offers. I know what I'd like to get for this car, especially with the fresh paint on it, but we'll see. Please note that this will NOT pass any inspection. Here in MD, historic tags will be your best bet (no inspection and no emissions!). I am being as straightforward about this car as possible (wish the last owner treated me with that same respect...). Title is fine, except it has the "Odometer exceeded mechanical limits" mark on it (due to the fact it's a 5-digit odometer instead of a 6). Thanks.

Re: 86 Camaro Z28
Where in MD are you? I'm in silver spring. Seems like alot of work needed for your asking price of $2500 (4th gen Zs in our area can be had for that, though I like the 3rd gen styling better). PM me and lets talk.

Re: 86 Camaro Z28
$1000, I'm so sick of this car now. Had it running 10 minutes today to circulate fluids, and now the damn thing refuses to start. I'm done with it. Has too many damn problems. If someone else wants to tow this thing away and work on it, please.

Re: 86 Camaro Z28
Bump, this has been sitting for too long. I started to try to repair it (tach, etc). Did a tuneup but I can't keep it running. I really want this car to go to someone who wants to finish fixing it up. It'll likely need towed to your home or put on a trailer or something. If I can't get 1k out of it or close, then I'm just going to part it out/junk it. Please maek some offers. Thanks.
