Wanted: Best midwest Camaro under $7000!
I'm in Davenport, IA and am willing to spend up to $7000 (the less the better) for a nice 3rd gen camaro within reasonable driving distance (200 miles or so). I'm looking for something clean, streetable, and fast (will sometimes serve as daily driver). Let me know what you've got!

Car: 1989 Camaro RS
Engine: 305
Transmission: Auto
I've got an 89 RS that's definitely clean, streetable and within 200 miles of Davenport. As far as fast, that would be up to you. But if you've got a $7000 total budget, you'd have plenty left to make it fast.

i'm not too far from Indiana, in the St Louis, MO area. i have a 1989 IROC-Z hardtop, 92,xxx all original and stock miles. it has a few new body panels, new headliner, new driver seat cloth, new alternator, freshly rebuilt distributor, new paint (3 months old), and a few other mechanical things as well that i'm forgetting. i have new plugs and wires to be installed hopefully this week, and i'm also putting in a new starter today actually. the car doesn't hardly ever get driven i've had the car for about 6 months and maybe driven it 1,000 miles the car would come with the stock wheels, not the 1991 wheels you see in the pictures, but i will attach a photo of the factory ones at the end of this post, thanks for looking. i am asking $6,250

he told me he's keeping it, talked to him yesterday i believe it was. not trying to steal a customer or anything but i helped him find a cheaper route for insurance and he said he was most likely going to go that route

That's awesome for Cam if he can keep it, I know I would probably sell one of my kidneys to keep that car...
There are a few others I am looking into right now, I keep yours in mind - but I'm telling you that it's probably more that I would want to spend for a basically stock 3rd gen. I don't want to take anything away from it, it's a beautiful car - just not exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks for all the posts guys, but if everything works out I'll have a car by the end of the weekend. If something falls through I'll let you know.

if you're interested i've got an 89 IROC convertible, triple black, original tpi, original 5spd car. Was from california. You can eat off the underside of the car. Original CD player car. Now has a corvette spec L98 (113 casting aluminum heads, 015 casting TPI base intake, vette valve covers, N10 dual cat setup, rough cast Corvette TPI runners (89-91 correct) car has 78,xxx miles. Biggest draw back is it needs the motor installed. Its just sitting by the car at this point.
