and i will pretty much bet some cash that the interior is photo-shopped to have a richer black. If it looks like that in person then god bless. But that sticker on the door is a red flag.

That's really an L69 IROC-Z, it's pretty rare. QAs mentioned, there are some funny things about it. Decals, lack of fog lights, etc. It's probably been painted and they didn't know how to put back together correctly.
But if it's really an L69/T5 that is a really cool car.

actually i have seen it in person. the guy drove it to my house last night. great guy btw. he told me it was respraid and it is documented 50k miles. interior is almost flawless. i took a pic of the rpo codes but it turned out like crap and i didnt want to keep the fella waiting. he had places to go. it is very straight and solid. just wasn't sure about wanting a l69. i got an ls1 and t-56 getting built right now i could throw in it eventually but that would take away from its origionality pretty bad.

IMHO, I would leave that car as is, and make it all original. Its way too nice. Respray it the original color, get the decals in the right spot and keep the milage low. Bring it to car shows. You can find plenty other cars that are more rough to throw your ls1 in. But again this is just my opinion.

no fun to drive hp wise, wont handle as well as one with easy suspension upgrades, HOWEVER, you CAN find another one for cheap and throw your combo in it.
What will be fun with the overdrive is getting on the highway and cruising though.
Again, i would baby the hell out of that car and just get another one as a builder.

That's not a low ball. You need to look harder. I bought a 350 tpi car with leather 92 z with 12k miles and orig tires for 8500 this year and a few others I'd look harder at that price.

Re: 1985 IROC 50k miles, what's it worth?!
Very Nice Car,...... ( NOT the last year for a Thirdgen carb however ! )
Look for things that will ensure that it's a true L69. First check the VIN, then the RPO sticker to find the matchig VIN and the L69 code, You could also look for a 4-bolt cat converter and the HO tach should yellow line @ 5K. It's just too easy to install an HO air cleaner on an LG4 and call it an HO - do your homework !
The car probably didn't have factory Fogs; there's no button on the dash so he probably just installed the grill. Fogs Lights were not mandatory for the IROC in 85.
The Speedo is NOT factory. It's a dealer supplied unit made for 82-83 cars. Notice the trip reset on the left rather than center and the "Z28" on the face ? DO NOT base the cars mileage on what that speedo says.
DON'T swap or change that set-up if it's the real deal. The L69 is a very good drivetrain and it's LOTS of fun to drive. You will not be chirping 4th gear like an LS1 car,....(If you've got a stick ) but you can't have fun in an HO IROC -----> you might as well buy a malibu !
P.S. It's also VERY EASY to clone a mid eighties Z28 to look like an IROC. There's no RPO code so you must check for IROC only parts....... The suspension is the best place to start. Be sure there's a wonder bar installed and check the stickers on the front and rear springs. The Wonder bar is easy to install - but not many people will bother to swap springs to complete the cloning process.

85'S didn't have a fog light switch worked with the dims.
I have never seen a fog light set-up without a button, and do not believe that there was ever a non-button fog sytem in a ThirdGen Camaro so...... can you eleborate on that ??

You could have simply admitted that you were wrong.
Instead you spit venom and throw around insults....... I'll leave the invitation open. When-ever you can PROOOOOOVE that the 85 fog light cars didn't have a fog light button, feel free to respond.
