In the year 1990 my dad was stationed in germany in the army. he saw the 1990 camaro and bought one on mail order. It was a factory 5 speed, black, hardtop, and a blood red interior all pulled by 305. He was 18 at the time and had it for the next 4 years. in these 4 years, he waxed it every week. this car's life spanned from racing on the autobahn, and windy back roads to crashing in farmers fields to being in the US at a dealership. When he crashed it in the farmers field, he was speening on a back road and came to a sharp turn. the insurance guy stated that "if one more part was damaged it would have been totaled." It was rebuilt, and painted a mercedes black. my dads army buddies thought the think was wet every time they saw it because of the amazing paint job. I would love to find this car. One year when he came back to the US, he lived in new jersey, and traded the car in at a chevy dealer for a 1994 chevy silverado. This was the day he would regret. I have very little to id this car but it might be enough to work. If u bought a black 1990 camaro rs from a dealer in 1994 in NJ and it was black with a blood red interior, and the blood red interior rear seat had a small hole burnt in it from a cigarette, and the vin beginning was 1g1fp23e8---...i know it is useless without the second half, but if it sounds similar, it may be, and if it is could u pm me? i really wanna find where this car is. anyway here are some photos.

have you tried looking at the dmv if they have a record of what he has owned an maybe you can get the hole vin an the do a car fax an that may help. just a though

I FOUND THE VIN
my dad just came across all of the old paperwork for the car in my basement, the vin is 1G1FP23E8LL111061
now i just have to contact the dmv

the last record on autocheck shows a collision wit a culvert,july 21 of 2003 with airbag deployment, lousiville tennesee? hope that helps

i looked it up and it said there are 22 records available for it, and this means that it has been on the road for 22 years, hense it being 22 yr old, so someone still has it out there

good ****! it should show a name i believe. carfax can be stupid. when i got my 02 Camaro in 03, it was in my mom's name to save on insurance and such, then moved and re title and then got older and put it in my name when i was 23 then i carfaxed it for shitz and gigglz, and carfax made my car to sound like a **** lol that it had like 5 owners on it. carfax can't always be a reliable source though, but okay i guess to track down a car.

well carfax said it hit a culvert which is a large concrete structure, in Louisville TN. airbags deployed, and moderately damaged, which in other words they totaled it. 3 days later it was picked up by someone and they renewed the title on it, so it is either parted out or someone put it aside for a future project. this does not stop my search though, it could still be out there, so i will still look for it, if it is still out there, its bound to turn up sooner or later.
