I'm told this is supposed to make the amp more efficient and clean up the woofer sound a little better than the crossover in most amps can do. Is anyone actually doing this? Is it one of those professional only type things? Thanks ahead of time

I plan on doing this soon with all of my speakers, it's a good way to get cleaner power without distorting any speakers. For the subs, cutting out frquencies above whatever the sub can handle before the amp will definitely clean up your bass. A good three channel crossover can sweeten up all your speakers, too. Just do a little searching on websites; there's tons of information on crossovers.

unless you're using a rockwood or kenford or something like that, the internal crossover should not add any noticable noise to your system... shouldnt really make any difference at all... if you change the slope of the crossover, for example 12 db instead of a build-in 6, that may improve your sound...
