it depends on your budget check out profile amps they do pretty good power for cheap. that sub will have to be wired to a final load of 2 ohms so you look for the amp try and match up the rms power the amp does at 2 ohms and the rms power the sub does.

i actually am going to be running 2 kicker cvr 10"s and they are rated at 300rms apiece. i ended up getting a profile 2000 watt amp and it does way more than i need which isnt a bad thing b/c if you are smart with it you can turn your gains down so it wont push too much power to your sub. but check out profile amps on ebay they are pretty good for the money

Need to know budget and what kind of output (wattage) you're looking for. Do you have one or two subs? You're looking at a 2 ohm load with one (pretty easy to find an amp for this) or a 1 ohm load with two (somewhat more difficult to find a 1 ohm stable amp). You always want to wire as low as possible to have the best $$/watt ratio

Two 4 ohm DVC subs wired together yields a 1 ohm load, a 4 ohm load, or an 8 ohm load. Your most realistic options are to buy one amp that's 1 ohm stable and within your price range or to pick up two amps that are 2 ohm stable and run one per sub.

i would wire them to 4 ohms. what rms do those subs do? you can find a profile amp that would be good for those subs and around $100-150 on ebay. like i said i got a 2000 watt profile and it will do 980watts rms bridged @ 4ohms for around $200 so very good pricing on these things.

I just ordered the same speaker, but the 2ohm and was thinking of just running the single sub since I dont need to rattle my car to pieces. I'm also trying to decide on an amp but now all this talk about the ohms on DVC speakers has me confused. Will there be any audible difference between running at 400W RMS on 4 ohms or 400W RMS 1ohm?

Ok so after a bit of research I've decided to go with a 4 ohm setup (seems to be the most effective and cost efficient). I've pretty much decided on a Rockford Fosgate P4002 Bridged for 400W RMS @4ohms to power my single Kicker 05CVR122 wired to 4ohm in a ~1.8-2ft sealed custom box. Those amps sell for pretty cheap right now (120ish for a refurb or 170-200 new) and perfectly match the RMS power of my sub so I think it should make for pretty good quality. Any thoughts on those amps?

i have ran all of my systems to 4 ohms b/c it is alot cheaper to do so... a 1 ohm stable amp is alot more expensive than an amp that is bridgeable at 4 ohms and in all of my cases i have needed alot of power. i just bought a new amp for my setup but it hasnt come in yet it is a profile 2000 watt and it does 980 rms @ 4ohms bridged. which is more than enough for my 10"s so i will have to set the gains a little bit. lmk how you like that kicker im pretty pleased with mine so far. i would have liked to get 12"s but i already had a box for 10"s

also throw up some pics when you get it done.

Yeah im anxious to try it out, still have to wait 2 months until I go back to the US though to hear it. I had it sent to my parent's house. Hopefully it works I got it for $35 shipped off ebay on an auction ending soon with no bids. Anyway for $35 if it doesnt work I didnt lose much. I'll probably go with the same speaker if it doesn't, the stats on those look real nice.

The profile 1200 (with the gain turned down a bit) was my second choice for amp but I am thinking I'll be happier with the RF in the long run, and its not all that much more. Still havent ordered it yet but I'm pretty set on it. Lookin into a 1.9 cuft custom made box for 3rd gens made for 2 subs for a real nice price, but waiting on a reply if he can make them with only one hole. If that works out ill be looking into porting that box I think, since that size should allow room for the proper porting while remaining relatively flat with a single sub.

Edit: Ok well I cant seem to get one of those custom boxes with only 1 hole, and after giving it some thought I may be picking up a second speaker anyway. In that case I might start looking at the profile amps again specifically the 2000W one maroon mentioned above. Let me know how you like it when it comes, Maroon .
