Having a problem with my CD player
Hey guys, I've been having a problem with my CD player lately. Whenever I put the volume past around 25, this is when a CD is being used, the song will play a little, then theres a pause, then it plays again, then a pause and it continues on and on until I lower the volume. Does anyone have and ideas as to what might be wrong?

Could it maybe not be getting enougfh power? Past a certain volume, it crosses the bridge between just barely and not enough, so it dies while the battery catches up?
I dunno, strange. You could try a better alternator, but that's an expensive theory if you don't just have one laying around. Which, I kinda doubt you do.

Axle/Gears: 9 bolt w/ 3.73

Axle/Gears: Dana 44s with 4.10 and air lockers
Check your ground if you're running an amp. If you have a bad ground, or if the ground wire is on a painted or rusted surface, it will cut out exactly like you are describing.

What's the make and model? Are the display lights dimming? Do you have a DMM (Digital Multi Meter) and know how to use it?

I wouldn't point a finger at the alternator yet. I would be amazed if the 5 amps a deck could pull are enough to make your car’s voltage drop. You should check voltage at the deck when it's going full tilt (or close to it). If it’s dropping too low (below 10 or even 12 volts) that would explain your problem. You might also want to shoot NEEDAZ a pm if he doesn't stick his head in here soon - he fixes decks for a living.
