built sub tube
so i was going through my garage today and looking at some of our old parts while triyn go t find the car washing stuff, and i foudn this huge bass tube that weve had for a long time. SO i ws tlaking to my dad and i pulled it out. I asked him about it and he told me he made it and how he did. He put like 2 or 3 5 gallon buckets together and fiberglass rapped them and mounted the sub and a crossover inside(the sub is flush witht the openings)
so we hooked this up to the system in my suburban in the place of the other smaller woofer tube we had in there. This thing kicks! im totally making one for my car if this one doesnt fit. So, for anyone that thinks that you have to buy super expensive parts to build a system with all custom made boxes and stuff, you can make your own things.
yeah, there realy is no point to this, i just felt like posting

yep. That was my first enclosure... wrapped a bucket with about 6 layers of Fiberglass, Liquid nailed the lid on and mounted an OLD Rockford punch 10". Thought that thing was cool. in retrospect it sounded horrible, but it was loud. at the time I diddnt care about sound quality, I just wanted to rattle my windows and hear it 10 blocks away. Now Im older and aactually know what a good sounding setup sounds like. cant believe some of that stuff I used to think was cool.
Not saying that your saint good, but Im betting a box properly matched to your sub will sound better with out resonating. But if you like it, Bump it!
