aftermarket radio wont work after mismatched jumper cables
A few weeks ago a buddy oof mine jumped my 92 rs. The idiot was smart enough to put the cables on my battery backwards while I was in the house grabbing some stuff. When I came out there were sparks shooting everywhere, really ticked me off. Well there was no apparent damage except that my radio no longer works, its an Alpine CDE-9842. I have replaced the radio fuse are there any othere fuses which could cause this or is my radio most likely fried? Thanks

check your fuses under your dash one might have blown there instead

On your fuse block under the dash there is a fuse labeled ARC. Check that fuse, it controls constant power to the stereo, when my stereo was giving me trouble it turned out to be that fuse, and it is a common problem with our cars, most likely it blew out. as said above, check the fuse on the back of the stereo as well.

Re: aftermarket radio wont work after mismatched jumper cables
Be happy you only had some blown fuses, btw id check all the fuses just to be safe. And fyi, hooking up jumper cables backwards can actually cause a battery to melt down and possibly explode, if left connected long enough....
