Re: Selling My Radio Collection

I sell radios in several different markets including Ebay. Mine include shipping, insurance and handling charges, guaranteed to work. Mine are usually cheaper than my competition.

The bone yard around here sells all factory cd players for $30. If it don't work you bring it back and get another. Tape decks are $15.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. But you can always take it back again and again and again. I'm sure they have tons of 17 to 30 year old radios in perfect working condition on hand. We better rush on down there and pick up some of those bargains.

I have never really had a problem with yard radios. Once I got one that spit out a cd or two or had a few blown bulbs. There are plenty to choose from in the yard, you can even find barely used ones in some vehicles. Cassette decks are completely obsolete and cd's are going that way as well. The question is who is dumb enough to pay that much for a factory radio? I don't see too many takers in this thread. Blown radio bulbs can be fixed with parts from radio shack for under $10 and aux port add on instructions are all over the web.

These so called GTA radios with steering wheel controls can be found in early 90s Bonneville's and Grand prix's. In fact I have never seen one that didn't work properly.

4thgen cassette deck? I'll sell you one in perfect working order for $30+shipping. You can then flip it for your asking price. I'll even sell you the cd model in perfect working condition for the same price.

Factory bose means squat. The yard sees it as a regular delco unit and charges the same as any other factory deck. In fact I have a black factory 4thgen style bose unit I paid $20 for. However it does not perform when plugging into a non bose car or truck.

The steering wheel controlled radios were only available in the 87-88 6000's 88-89 GTA's and only the 88 Bonnevilles. The model number is 16062322 with a model 16062130 CDM. The ones in the later year pontiacs is 16088422 totally different radio.
Thank you for your opinion however so negative,,,

Attached is a stack of reciepts from the Quote dumb people who have bought from me in the last year.

Now that we have hear from the peanut gallery, let's move along,,,,

They will still work in a Thirdgen and look stock.

Clearly not everyone is aware what the radios actually go for if you look in the right places. There is no shortage of these people in the general public. Had most of them actually known. Do you really think they would have paid that much? doubtful.

Certainly.

Re: Selling My Radio Collection

Actually, NO they won't work in a third gen, a very interesting article for those of you who do not know the difference;

The radio itself will plug in and work. If wanted the steering wheel can be swapped into a third gen as well. It would actually make a nice factory looking swap to replace the dated looking "GTA" steering wheel controls and wheel.

I doubt anyone cares anyway. Not many people are into buying expensive cassette decks anymore

Good luck with the sales.

Re: Selling My Radio Collection

The 16088422 radio only works with 1989 to 1993 pontiac vehicles with steering wheel controls on the GM E&C bus. It takes the steering wheel controls, proper wiring and a translation module to work.

Some people like to keep their cars looking original. That is why they ship them to me from all over the country for repair. I will agree with you on the fact that 8 tracks, cassettes and cd's are and becoming a thing of the past.

But thank you for the GLWS!

Holy crap! If you don't want to pay what he is asking then just move on and look somewhere else. Some people take pride in keeping their cars 100% original. Yes, even the radio.

No need to fill his thread with pointless banter.
