Where to ground my amp???
Ok, so I got a kicker comp 10" subwoofer, and a rockford fosgate punch p300.1 mono amp. I have all the wires ready for when it gets here, but I'm at a loss as to where to ground the sucker. I got the scosche wiring kit from walmart that's $25, and the power cable doesn't quite reach the well, in fact it only goes to about 6 inches past the driver side rear seat into the hatch area. This is where I'll be mounting the amp. I'm very new to cars in general, so using big automotive words may not be much help I know the ground wire it supposed to touch bare metal, but I'm not sure where to find a good spot, and the ground cable is only 2.5ft. If you have pictures that would be extremely helpful!

Scratch away some paint, sand the metal clean, and ground it to body metal ( best to be away from any spot welds ). Make sure to check for clearance under the car so you don't hit the tank.
I always hit the ground with a little lacquer to prevent rust once I'm done.

Re: Where to ground my amp???
I grounded mine on an existing ground screw just under the trunk latch mechanism. You need to take out 2 phillips screws on top of the trunk latch trim panel, and about 3 or 4 big plastic screws out too, which hold the rear trim panel in.
Another place I did it was on a lip of metal just in the middle of the trunk near the edge of the load floor. There was a flap of carpet already cut there too. I think it is meant as a place to put the hook to secure a flat tire in the trunk to satisfy the lawyers. Point is, you can drill into this lip of metal without cutting carpet or drilling into gas tank. May not be what you want since it is in the middle of the trunk floor, but on other hand, some people put their amps here, so it is perfect. That is what I did when I had my amps showing. Now my amp is in the rear glove box so I used hidden screw mentioned first, above.
