I need some good 4x6 dash speakers.

I'm looking to put in some newer speakers in the dash, I need to know what you guys recommend. I need ones that fit well and also sound very good in the high end and some nice midrange. I'll get 6x9's to match later, but for now I want to upgrade the front's while the dash is still off.

go with the alpine 4x6 plate s nothing else to be considered.

For my money, Rampage omponents cant be beat! They come in an easy to open package and installed in about 5 minutes. It even has a bass and treble adjustment on the head unit.

They have 32% THD.

is Rampage the ones in PepBoys? I used to use Polk Audio 4x6's before I put the kickpanels in. (So im selling the 4x6's). Don't get plates unless you wanna do some heat molding.

I like pioneer, go to best buy and listen to them, if you like'm, I have a pair for sale in the temporary classifieds board. IMO they are very good speakers for mids and highs, I have two pairs on my transam, and I was going to use a pair for my camaro, but I decided to look for something that will fit the original kick panels.
Like I said, listen to them, and judge for yourself, after all, not all ears are created equal good luck

i just put in mb quarts about 2 weeks ago. personally i think they sound pretty good, just keep the bass turned down on them. i only bought these until i get enough money for kick panels, so for now they are perfect for me.

I just put in a set of Boston Acoustics 4X6 plates in my 87 GTA, sounds very nice, not to pricey either, $125.00. but you will need to do some custom work.

Go with plates, or a component set in the dash. There's alot of good companys that makes speakers so you're better off listening to a bunch of different ones first. Then buy the ones you like.

ive put infinity plates in my dash and they are great. they cost a little more but there is a huge difference to the alpines i had origionally in there.

you should try some boston acoustic 4x6's. that is what i have in my car and they are the best sounding 4x6's i have heard.

Almost everyone on here has a differant taste when it comes to music. The ONLY way you are going to get the best sounding speakers for you is by going out to some shops (go to custom shops, they will have more varity than Best Buy or Circuit City) and listen to everything they have in your price range. Pick the ones you like best.

I could list my favorite brands but that would help you none if you had never heard their speakers before. And dont let the salesman press you into a sale becouse we like to do that .

It also depends on what KIND of music you listen to. If you set your system up for rap/bass... it may sound like crap with heavy metal... Find what you like for what you like to listen to.

I'm just trying to find some decent ones that fit in the dash. The rest of my system is full alpine, but I don't wanna have to modify anything.
