Edelbrock sells a thin carb spacer to allow a square flanged carb (holley 4776) to be mounted to a dual flanged manifold like the Performer. Comes in the box with the new manifold. Look in the online Edelbrock carb accessories catalog. Edelbrock #2732

The 4776 (650 or 700 CFM square flange IIRC) will bolt right up to that manifold. Use the outer bolt holes. With the small primary throttles that those have, they won't hit the manifold.

......but you MUST use the thin plate that F-Bird88 mentioned or you will get a HUGE vacuum leak at the edges of the carb. The throttle bore opening on the Secondary side of the Manifold is just a teansy bit wider than the base of a Holley Square bore. That's what the #2732 plate covers.

Not if you use the correct gasket. O.E holley gaskets cover just fine. Buy a gasket for a fNord application or just look in the Chrome (de-performace) isle at the parts stores and you will find what you need. The #2732 is usefull but last one I checked on was $35.

Well unless they changed the design of the manifold...that information is incorrect. Yes, there are wider gaskets than the stock Holley. That is what I always use. That is not the problem.

Without the plate you have less than 1\16th inch overlap between the carb base and the manifold on the Secondary side. IMHO ( and apparently Edelbrock's )...that will just not do. After a while the gaskets can easily get sucked in.....and you get a vacuum leak. Depending on core shift of the manifold....you may even get a vacuum leak on one side...Mine did ( Edelbrock 2101 and Holley 3310-1 ).

Easy way to find out. Drop the carb on the manifold with no gasket and tarce around the carb base with a scribe. I think you'll find that there's not much material to seal things with.

The spacer plate was and still is about $6 at Jegs.

Sure you can shop around a bit and pick one up for under $10 buck$.

Ive only had if'y sealing with some of the gaskets. That manifold is the same spread bore dual pourpose design as my action+ so I know what seals. #108-18 and a few others seal well without taking up space.

This is the one I like to use

If you really wanted to be slick

Yep...those would work.

BTW...the Edelbrock plate that we are talking about ( #2732 ) is only about 1\16" or 3\32" thick. Made of steel to distribute clamping loads and provide proper support for Holley base.

I just put a Speed Demon 650 on that manifold and it seals great i used a Mr.Gasket gasket it was thiker than the on that came with the Demon no leaks at all! but the manifold had to be milled down in a spot that hit the carb cause it's somthing for the EGR and i put a none smog complient carb on it.
