Im pritty sure you've seen a million post like these but my carb is running so rich that i burns my eyes when i stand in back of the car. I'v turned the a/f ratio all the way down and it was good for a little while just just got worse over time. There is really no smoke commin out of the car and the the motor is an 11.1 comp. performer Eldelbrok carb 600cmf and performer intake. Fulie heads and as for the cam im not sure of the specs but its mild. I'm thinking of getting a holley 750 double pumper. (im pritty sure the motor can handle it if i tune it right) but im not sure if this will be too big since im already running really rich. Im not to famillar with tunning these things so anykind of help would be nice. O yea and off the line the car sucks. It bogges really bad. Im almost positive its just a bad carb but we shall see.

Its not the carb,,,,directly...
The carb is off because the ignition timing is off.
A motor with a larger than stock cam needs a lot more timing at idle than a motor with a little stock cam.

disconnect the vacuum advance. (for now)

readjust the timing to 25degrees BTDC at idle.
readjust the carb's idle speed and idle mixture screws to achieve the best idle and speed. (750/800rpm)
You probabily were able to close the throttle at idle quite a bit once you readjusted the ignition timing for more advance at idle.
Now go to the backof the car and smell the exhaust.
should be much cleaner now.
Now your burning the fuel in the motor instead of dumping it into the exhaust pipe.

Now,, to drive the car you'll have to recalibrate the mechanical advance curve in the distributor to allow running the increased initial timing at idle while still advancing with rpm to about 32-36deg at high rpm.
( you have to limit the travel of the mechanical advance mechanism.) 24 degrees travel is typical of the stock distributor. You need to limit the travel to allow only about 10 degrees of mechanical advance travel.
Do not drive the car until you have recurved the distributor advance as described. Excessive Over advanced timing will damage your motor.

You want to end up with a timing curve something like this :: 25degrees BTDC @ idle (750-800rpm) advanceing to 32-36degrees @ 3000-3200rpm.

adjust the distributor's vacuum advance to allow and additional 10 to 15degrees vacuum advacne at part throttle cruise ( highway cruise)
make sure the PCV system is hooked up to the base of the carb and valve cover ( PCV valve) the other valve cover should be vented. ( breather) The carb will not idle right without the PCV hooked up.

If your engine really has a true 11:1 compression ratio you will need high octane fuel to avoid ping.
a 50-50mix of 92octane pump gas and 110 octane unleaded racing fuel should do it.
Once you give the motor the right octane of fuel it wants it will not ping with the timing set up as described above.
.and it will perform as it should.
For 92 octane pump gas you should limit the compression ratio to about 10:1 or less. You're going to have trouble running this motor on pump gas alone.
