Summit brand carburetors?

I'm curious if anyone has had any experience, or has any input on these carburetors. I'm intrigued by the 750 cfm carb w/ the mechanical secondaries, and it looks like a really good deal. From the description, it sounds like kind of a hybrid between a holley DP and an Edelbrock, but I'm hardly a carb expert. Here's the link.... http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...304+332701+115

Anyone have any input? Thanks, I'm sure I'm not the only person who has this question.

Re: Summit brand carburetors?

The price is entertaining. Be sure that it's compitable with the cam you have.. anything over 220@.50 isnt promising with these carbs. Not for me!

Apparently Summit and Holley are marketing the old Holley 4010 series carb that never caught on. http://www.holley.com/data/TechServi...ded%20View.pdf Supposed to be a less leak-prone design, but I've never had problems with my Holley leaking (except when I got sloppy putting it back together). You can also do jet changes without draining the bowls, but you have to pull the whole air horn off, and PV changes require removing the carb from the intake manifold.

Looks like the standard Holley electric choke conversion kit fits it. Probably not a bad choice for the typical mild performance application.

Re: Summit brand carburetors?

So how do you think it would compare to a holley 750 DP?

It is a 750 Holley DP.

I suppose you mean a 4150 model 750 Holley DP.

It would probably perform very similarly.
