82 LG4 CCC help

I have an 82 MSE with the stock 305 4bbl, CC quadrajet. It refuses to run and runs so rich that it literally dumps fuel into the exhaust. I've since replaced the exhaust and basically given up on the car to have someone else try to work on it but few people know how to work on carb'ed cars anymore.

Here is what happened: Before it even was started for the first time in 10 years, I pulled all of the plugs, which were jet black. I thought the plugs were just carbon'ed up at the time from running it on old/bad gas by the previous owner but now I realize it was from running extremely rich. After replacing the plugs and adding fresh gas and oil, it ran ok in my driveway. I've never actually driven the car on the street and when I tried to drive it down my driveway, it kept stalling and literally had no power. Now, it has blown out the carb to intake gasket, which means it runs extremely rough, will not idle, and dies as soon as you take your foot off the gas. It also has only enough power to move the car a few feet in first gear foot to the floor. The gasket I think literally sucked itself into the intake in an attempt to pull more air into the engine.

I haven't touched the idle/mix screws or anything else on this carb. I'd really like to put the Holley Carb and Edelbrock intake on this car that I have but since this car isn't registered as a classic at the moment it won't pass PA inspection with those parts (eliminates vacuum lines to PCV, AIR system, computer controls, and egr valve). I have no idea what to even start looking for because all I know its running extremely rich due to some problem with this CC carb and cannot run well enough to back it out of the driveway. All vacuum lines are routed correctly, mix screws haven't been touched, computer junk looks like its new. Choke functions and their are no indicator lights on in the dash. Thanks for your help

Re: 82 LG4 CCC help

Please disregard this post, I've decided not to keep the stock quadrajet and 4bbl intake. I found too many sensors, hoses, and other problems with the stock setup to make it reliable enough for PA state inspection. I've realized it would be much easier to register the car as an antique and swap out these parts instead of trying to get it to run with deteriorated parts. Thanks for your time.
