Transmission problems after swap? Need you input

Alright here's my problem. I took out my comp, went to go do the tcc lockup fix and found out my tranny wasn't even plugged in so I didn't worry about it. The other day i took it out for the first time without the tv cable hooked up and drove around a bit then when I hooked the cable up today and took I out it seems like it's not grabbing. I can put it down on first and it feels fine but when I put it in Drive it does it again. It feels like it's not engaging. Anyone know what could be goin on

Does this sound like a tcc prblm? Or maybe a vacumn prblm? Input would be great

Re: Transmission problems after swap? Need you input

DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR WITH THE CABLE UNHOOKED.

YOU WILL DESTROY THE TRANS IF YOU DID NOT ALREADY.

you need the correct tv cable kit for your carb.

search around "700r4 tv or kickdown cable"

THAT CABLE CONTROLS LINE PRESSURE,THAT FEELING WAS YOUR CLUTCHES SLIPPING .

Re: Transmission problems after swap? Need you input

THAT CABLE NEEDS TO BE CONNECTED WITH THE CORRECT BRACKETS AND PROPERLY ADJUSTED OR YOU WILL DESTROY THAT TRANSMISSION.

IT TAKES LESS THAN 20 MILES TO DESTROY THAT TRANS WITH A MISADJUSTED TV CABLE.

Re: Transmission problems after swap? Need you input

There's a site that tells how the TV cable works on a 700R4,
TVmadeez or TVmadeeasy, something like that.

Our cable is right & there's no ECM or electric TCC. Gets all gears just fine.

If you can find the site, follow the directions completely.
Our computer crapped out, so I lost alot of saved sites.

Re: Transmission problems after swap? Need you input

the tcc was only an issue on the early 700r4's,they needed it to stay cool, but mid 80's gm fixed that problem.

i have a switch in my truck (gmc 1500 /5.7 700r4 4x4) to shut off the tcc when i tow or haul or have my plow on.

the owner before me had it unplugged for 8 years.

Re: Transmission problems after swap? Need you input

I was thinking that the TV cable was only for controlling downshifting. Found out it controls line pressure and shift points as well. What my car was actually doing was "stacking shifts" because the cable was too loose. I found a website that gives 700R4/200R4 TV Cable Adjustmant Instructions. Ill get it adjusted tomorrow when theirs light outside and let yall know how it did. Thanks for all the input, it def led me in the right direction!

The website I found was:
http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Inst...ble_adjust.htm

Thanks, I checked out the site (tvmadeez.com) and its actually sells a kit to do it, looks pretty good but all the instructions seemed to be more based around adjusting using the bracket they sell.

The website does have a lot of information on how the TV cable works with 700R4 and 200R4 though. Really informative, thanks for the help
