broken thermostat house bolt, thinking about new intake while running stock Q-jet
yeah, broke the thermostat housing bolt. tried using a extractor bit with no luck. could i just drill the bolt out on re-tap the hole with it on the block?
beginning to think it might be easier to buy a new intake.
which brings me to this point. can i buy any aftermarket intake and use the stock q-Jet?
tried searching but no real luck, if someone can point me in the right direction that would be great.
looking at this intake, to run the Q-Jet i would need a spread bore correct?

The regular RPM won't work with a Qjet. You need the Qjet-specific version of the RPM to use your carb., just FYI.
Weiand makes a nice new spreadbore intake, that supports your Qjet, called the 'Street Warrior'. Its a better manifold than the out dated Performer, and shorter than the RPM. I've heard its a pretty good manifold.

You can drill and tap the intake for the next size up bolt, youll probably have to drill out the hole in the housing too....but why bother, its a perfect excuse to upgrade the intake

Besides the EGR issue I'd prolly go with the RPM myself.
Plus, they would go well with headers and a cam, those are close enough to the intake to justify purchasing? lol.
