Best carb for 406ci street motor
Hi,
Ive got a 406ci motor, with AFR 210 heads, with 8.5:1 compression, as it was a blower motor. Im now selling the blower, for funds to finish the rest of the car.
My question is, what would be the ideal size and type of carb for a car that will be 99% street driven.
Id much rather trade getting every last bit of horsepower out of it, for a very good response and drivability.
Manifold wise, I was thinking a Performer RPM?
I realise the compression is not the best for a N/A motor, but for now, I have to work with what I've got.
Any suggestions would be very helpful

Re: Best carb for 406ci street motor
A friend of mine has a 406 with a set of AFR 195s and an RPM intake - though his CR is up around 11:1.
He uses a mechanical secondary 750cfm Demon carb on it, and it works well, though I'm not a fan of Demon carbs myself. I'd suggest a 750 Holley, either vacuum seondary (which I know Five7 will fight me on ) or a double pumper of the same size. I prefer the VS Holleys for most street engines over the double pumpers, but thats just personal preference. a 750cfm would be about right for your engine though.

Pro Systems in Michigan can build a custom carb for you, same price as a holley out of a jegs catalog. Find their website. You won't regret it. Pat builds the best carbs.
