Re-glue at bow 5 without replacement question
The rear glued edge at bow 5 has come loose on my 89. I want to glue it back down without removing the whole top (obviously). The top is very tight and doesn't want to stretch over bow 5 now. Probably the reason it has come apart. If I raise the back up to hopefully get some slack it doesn't help. Is there another part of the top, like a certain bow or rivet, that if loosened or removed will add the slack I need to get this back over the bow and glued down? I have never had one of these apart and I know they are somewhat counter-intuitive. Loosen something that should make it looser actually makes it tighter type of thing. The design factor in some of these tops is just amazing.

Re: Re-glue at bow 5 without replacement question
Update. I picked up some glue at a local interior shop instead of using the 3M. Much better IMO. I got the top over the frame. I had to play tug of war to get it "stretched" over the bow for a test fit. Took it back off and cleaned/reglued. I am surprised how well the adhesive worked. Top is a little wrinkled but it was half off for the last 2 years. No big deal. Glad it's glued.
