Did yours have molded carpet inserts on the sides? Starting in 91 GM went cheap and used molded carpet inserts in place of the modified plastic pieces that were used on the coupes. Pictures of mine won't help you because my 90 has the plastic trim pieces on the sides.

I am buying an 88 IROC vert. Is it possible to place an amp and 2 12" sub box in the convert.? In my other cars I have amps and subs but they are Hardtops and T Top cars. I want similar sound in my new vert.

Thanks Blue Zee. I currently have an 850 watt amp with two 12's in both of my regular Camaro's. My next question is do you think I will need a larger amp because I don't have the hatch in a convertible and essentially have a more conventional trunk in the convertible.

I'm not the best person to ask for audio advice. There's another section of the site dedicated to audio questions, I'd probably ask there. The extent of my knowledge is bigger amps = more power. But it's all in how good of a woofer you have. If you have a huge amp and a good SIZE woofer, it won't sound as good as a slightly smaller amp and a really high quality woofer. I am all for Memphis Audio. I've had these two subs in my car for 6 yrs now and they still sound brand new. Even with having a convertible that leaks pressure when you're having your SPL readings taken, I still punch out a 129 on the SPL test, which I think is pretty good for a basically low end, non-Pro Comp setup.

Thanks! The way I have the amp lets me fold the top down like normal. It doesn't affect it in any way at all. In fact the rear bow of the top slides in right behind the amp.

To my understanding, all of the verts had the same trunk carpet regardless of interior color.
I recall on ebay I came across some tan colored carpeted pieces that cover the area around the hinges for the trunk but i dunno... All verts have black trunk carpet?
i was thinking of getting one of those bass tube is it internaly amplified? is it loud enough top down rear seat up on the highway
Yes, it has an internal amp. While it won't pound rocks into dust, it does give back the base that seems to go missing in a vert when the top goes down. It is easily noticeable and definitely better than just the speakers in the stock locations (even after upgrading them as well).
Again, don't buy this type of subwoofer if your goal is to knock out your neighbours dentures.
It's also has a remotely operated level, phase, and crossover frqz . . .
Regarding the trunk carpet, I've never seen another one with anything but black. It's pretty much the standard carpet that's throughout the car.
