Wrote up a quick DIY article with some pics(!) to better show how to do the job.
Find it here http://www.hioutput.com/tech/heatercore.html and on the tech page of my website.

Heater core replacement
Hi Pete, that's a great article, but does ANYONE have one for a 3rd gen WITH A/C?? The HVAC and stuff looks a LOT different! I was quoted $210 without A/C and $450 WITH A/C! I did a search on the board, but everything kept pointing to NON-AC equipped cars. I have an 87 350TPI fully loaded with cruise, AC, power everything.

I have a 91, fully loaded. Procedure is similar if not the same. It's nonsense that it's more. Do it yourself. Get a bunch of bandaids though. I cut my arm up to no end and had to pull the dash pad to stick one hand in the top and another up through the bottom to get a spinner on some of those damned bolts.
