Why no light on manual fan switch?

I was reading the sticky, and they said, don't use a toggle with a light. (I know it's just providing the fan relay with a ground)

Why is that? not enough juice?

i'm interested as well....tried to rig up an LED to the fan switch, no luck....drove me crazy till i just decided it HAD to be that there was some reason why it wouldnt work, while the same LED on the same switch wired into the electric fuel pump it worked fine....
Any info would be greatly appreciated! would a relay be needed for this to work?

I do know that the bypass for the fan relay is just a ground.

You ground the relay and it trips causing the fan to come on, I don't think there's any current in it. Just my thoughts

maybe try hooking the ground post on the switch to a positive power source?

you could just hook the led, or light up parallel with the relay, that way when you send power tothe relay, you will be sending power to the light as well.
