Car: '01 Vette 'vert Engine: Ls1 Transmission: 6sp | A/C high pressure switch replacement? I just swapped out the A/C compressor, accumulator and oriface tube in the elky (AKA '88 TPI GTA), and I couldn't get the secondary fan to come on when charging the system. I put in 3 cans of R134a, and around 2 oz of oil, after the system had been vacuum for around 30 minutes. After all that work I found out that the high pressure switch isn't working to turn on the secondary fan. I know the low pressure switch has a schrader valve on it, so you can change it without opening the system, but is that true for the high pressure switch? I really don't want to open the system again.
FWIW, I have around 35psi low side and around 240psi high side pressures. | | |
