Re: overheating problem

What do you mean by way to hot? The engine, radiator, hoses, inside the car?

When you shut the car down (garage or driveway) the engine stops running and therefore the cooling system stops pumping the water. While in theory the engine is not getting hotter, the heat is no longer actively dispurse via the cooling system. The engine (and coolant within the engine) has to cool down passively without any aid from the engine's cooling system.
