Electric fan always running? computer fried?
Hey i have a problem with my 88 tpi , computer 165, when key is on engine not running, the cooling fan doesnt run, when i ground the diagnostic connector it comes on,, also as soon as i start the engine the cooling fan starts running, i check C1 (cooling fan output) at the computer with a test light to 12V and it lights up. I Assume what when the temperature reaches 220 or whatever its supposed to ground C1 to complete the circuit and turn the fan on, But it grounds it as soon as you start the engine.??? IS my computer fried? This is a transplant , is there anyway i have somthing wired up wrong? no Codes are in the computer, but when i have a scanner on it i noticed it doesnt come out of open loop?

The scanner is reading the right temperature (same as my mechanical gauge), it says there is no fan request, when it is on

I've burned a few proms. Ever once in a while I'll get a bad burn (or accidentally install the chip backwards), and the fan will come on as soon as the key is switched to run. Might just be a bad prom.
Do any of the other sensors read out-of-whack, like 02, tps, maf?

All the other sensors seem to be reading alright, but it does seem to be running awfully rich like you can smell gas out the tail pipes when its running, other then that it seems to run alright too, I just don't want to be running around with a bad computer that might let me down
