My car is having an over heating issue that I cannot figure out. It can be driving down the road and the temp stays fine as long as the car is moving. However, when im sitting in traffic or at a long stop light the temp will get higher and if I sit there too long the car will always overheat. Then, if I get moving for a while the temp will go back down to normal. What are some things that it could be, water pump?

The fans dont come on in the car. Im still trying to wire them up (single to dual fan swap). The car just gets too hot too quickly which makes me think that it is something other than the fans causing it to happen.
Just rig it up to run all the time. Then you never have to worry about if its coming on or not.
And if your fans arent working... then im pretty sure its your problem. My car did the same thing, dropped it off at the shop, gave em 20$ and they rigged my fan to run 24/7 and works perfectly, I could leave the car running in my driveway all day and it wont overheat.
my car was running hot and i took the rad out and cleaned all the dust and bugs and dirt that was stuck in the core and now its fine probably not your problem but its something to check out
Running your fans "24/7", is not good for them, it will cause excessive wear and premature failure. it can also impede airflow at higher speeds, causing it to run hot.
If everything is setup correctly, you should only need your fan(s) in slow moving/stationary/idling situations.
I would check the water pump propeller after you get the fans wired. Have you taken a look into the radiator to see if its corroded at all? I would wire the fans on a switch you can control. If you need help I can guide you through it.
Well please post the guide to running them on a switch inside the cab. This guy is coming tomorrow to help me pull the motor, maybe ill switch to dual LS1 fans and set up a switch inside the cab and just switch it on and off as needed.
