Re: found the leak, wtf is the name of the thing leaking

Def sound advice.

The first and last time I bought something at the dealer was a little over a month ago.

I went in to order the aluminum plenum extension off the corvettes, and the 3 screws to go with it. I had to do a double take when the bastard behind the parts desk quoted me $65. I told him to drop the 3 screws from the order as they were over $6 a piece! WTF?

And STILL, $40+ for a piece of aluminum about the size of my hand? That's a roadside robbery!

Re: found the leak, wtf is the name of the thing leaking

WTF,,,,Lemme tell you WTF. Having been the so called bastard behind teh counter since 1983 I think I am qualified. I agree that 6 bux for a small screw is robbery. But the satisfaction of taking it in the brown is only realized when that over-priced screw fits perfectly. We(everyone who owns GM cars) should be thankful we don't really have to get it by driving a Chrysler. I know as currently being a Bastard behind the counter at a Chrysler dealer. Believe me, I am not going poor. Those cars are the biggest piles out there. BTW,,, by the end of March I will have moved to another GM dealer as parts manager. Maybe we can work out an on-line gig in the future.

Thats because your being charge "list" price. "list" price is about 30-40% more of cost.

Re: found the leak, wtf is the name of the thing leaking

You might try summit, jegs, hawks, year one. Whatever other 3rd gen parts companies or parts dealers what ever you want to call them. They do have a lot of the sensors and stuff. Maybe even a TPI company.
Compare all the prices.

Re: found the leak, wtf is the name of the thing leaking

I'm currently at work, so I can't see the pic. But when I get home, I'll look at it, I may be able to get you a used one (I have a TPI setup sitting in my garage and have everything for it).

Is it just coming from the threads? Maybe removing it and re-installing it with some teflon tape will cure it if so. I've done that to every TPI car I've ever worked on, and never a leak after that.

Re: found the leak, wtf is the name of the thing leaking

Try a regular socket with a u-joint. Just be careful that it dosen't barely grab it.
If that dosen't work, you can take out the fitting above it and use a wrench.
