knock sensor/cooling fan temp. switch locations 5.7L T.P.I camaro
I need desperately mainly pictures of a Knock sensor, Knock sensor connector, Cooling fan temperature switch, and cooling fan temperature switch connector. My connectors are in bad shape hell the knock sensor isnt even connected I think or it might be the switch im not sure.. I might even have placed the two in the vise versa spots when I rebuilt the motor. Either way one has never even been hooked up. curious thing is my check engine light has never come on. but anywho if someone could help that would be awesome. Engine is an 1988 5.7L T.P.I. One connection on the harness is a pop on style the other is a slip or slide on style.. Best description I have really. Thank you.

This is what I believe is a knock sensor connector but I have seen cooling fan temperature switches that look just like it.. I dont know if I got it wrong or the stupid websites do.. I have yet to see what I describe as a slip or slide on connector how I describe it anywhere but I know it exists considering its on my damn car..

Cooling fan and knock sensors usually have the same plugs and are located on the passenger side of the engine. Cooling fan sensor is in the head between #6 and #8 spark plugs. The Knock Sensor is below the Fan sensor in the block right in front of the Starter. If I remember correctly, Knock sensor plug is white and the fan switch is black.

On my 88 5.7 TPI car ,the only slide on connector is for the temperature sender on the drivers side head.

wait... i thought i hooked up the knock sensor... theres two cables... this might explain why even after replacing knock sensor i still get the code.. '.' so white one is knock sensor and black is switch

So what will happen if the cables are swapped? Specifics, I understand it will probably run like crap.
