AC Delete 87 IROC 305 LB9 TPI
My A/C has been non-functional since I bought the IROC from a buddy. I do not feel like paying the money for a new system or for prehistoric freon...
There is no serpentine belt on this engine. Can't I just remove the AC hardware and the belt and I'll be fine? I want to remove the extra weight and clean up the engine bay.

Yup it was pretty straightforward on my 87 T/A, I picked up an a/c delete box to make more room. If I remember right I had to change over the little coil plug. Just make sure the system is evacuated properly

I gained a ton of room, It was the best cosmetic change I made to the engine bay. You gain a lot of passenger side engine bay room. While you're at it, relocate the washer and coolant tanks to inside the front bumper somewhere, there are a few threads on that. I did the one by fueled soul and I used polished aluminum cylinders.

Re: AC Delete 87 IROC 305 LB9 TPI
Had someone look at the system and all the hardware is intact, just no Freon. I am going to have them switch over to the new fittings to accept the modern Freon as R12 is hard to find/expensive. Going to keep it mostly stock for now. In a year a two I plan on dropping a much more powerful engine and/or rebuild/supercharge the LB9. So when I switch over to the serpentine system I may just delete the AC then...
