Evaporator housing insulation

Hey everybody! Long time-no see!

I wanted to ask the community if anyone knows where to get the foam insulation that goes inside the evaporator housing? Please see the picture below. Headers got a little too hot, too close. I’ve since clearanced the headers so they fit a lot better. No damage to housing. Thanks in advance!

Any closed cell foam should work there
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=1%2F8+closed+cell+foam+sheet&crid=3GV75O5SS5LIH&sprefix=1%2F8%22+closed+%2Caps%2C809&ref=nb_sb_ss_ac-a-p_2_11 https://www.amazon.com/s?k=1%2F8+closed+cell+foam+sheet&crid=3GV75O5SS5LIH&sprefix=1%2F8%22+closed+%2Caps%2C809&ref=nb_sb_ss_ac-a-p_2_11

You just don't want the foam to absorb water

Or you could get another box and swap it in or try to peel the foam out of the box and re-install

It would help if you could find a way to rivet a heat shield to the outside right there; in some fashion that it would stand off a bit from the housing, and leave an air gap. I guess that would depend on how much space your exhaust leaves.

I'd want foam that had some sort of fire rating; it would SUCK if it got hot somehow and released toxic fumes into the air-handling system.

Re: Evaporator housing insulation

I'm trying to find the other foam that goes along the front of the evaporator. I'm replacing my evaporator and the original part has the foam stuck/glued to it. I'd prefer to find replacement foam if possible.
