Warning , do not download this if you use Windows 98

I just verified 100% that the program installer modifies oleaut.dll as well as three or four other registrey to the wrong values.

Your MSN 8 will not work , your open in new window and print will not work if you have windows 98 and try to load talons autotuner.

Talon I was so happy to be able to solve my problems that I did not log the problems .

I fixed the problems the autotuner creates using an exe called mcrepair.

http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...s/mcrepair.exe

The thread that saved my ***.

thats... messed up! hmm.

Actually Its not the Auto-Tuner causing the problem, its the Visual Basics OLE Runtime. Apparently the files "gathered" by the install package are too "new" for windows 98.

I will compile a Windows 98 version and test it on a windows 98 computer. For now, only people with windowsXP can use the current beta.

See this is why I need "beta testers" because of crap like this

614 a version should be available for you shortly

I could probably host it on my Verizon account. I'd be glad to give it a try.

OK I give up who is that?

Sorry for the delays people but its finals week and i have not been able to complete a new win98 version beta. What I will do for now is compile it without VBRUNTIME (except MSVBVM60.DLL) So that if you install the commander 950 on your windows 98 machine (I assume you have...) Then Install my program, it will use the commander's runtime instead.

Ill email it to RickTPI ASAP.

Will it work with windows 2000 professional/Windows ME? Does it jus modify the fuel tables or does it modify other parameters as well? Sorry if these are already answered above. I am at work and do not have time to read through all of it.

I used it with Win 2000 & the GW Solo mentioned above. It ran slow & you could not open two windows at a time or it would freeze the computer or run so slow it would not refresh the screen very quickley at all.

Yea I was talking about the C950 software. I've been going back & forth between here & Chevytalk's FI board. I got the posts mixed up. There is a similar post over there about C950 software & Windows XP compatability. Sorry

Whew ok finals are over, but now my job is being a real time consumer! I work at best buy, and this time of the season is killer in retail. I havnt even been able to look at my program!

Plus my transmission just died at the track, I pulled an 1/8 mile in 9.3 seconds @ 78MPH then smacked the rev limiter in 2nd gear when it wouldnt shift to third! I wound up running a 14.4 @ 94MPH in 2nd gear because thats as fast as it would go in 2nd!

Then i proceeded to run a 15.6 @ 94 MPH because of tire spin and a 2.7 60' time! what a joke! stupid tranny wouldnt shift to 2nd because of a slipping 3-4 clutch pack i beleive.

well whatever. Dana at Pro-built has shipped me a complete rebuild kit with everything he uses on his trannys, and i ordered a 9.5" 3000 stall lockup, and since im pulling out the rear end this weekened to replace the shocks & springs i will take it down and have 3.73's put into it.

So lots will be happening to the car this month and next, Until then ill have to take another short break. I still plan on compiling the program for win98 as it sits and emailing it to rick but i dunno when i can get my hands on that old win98 laptop. We'll see.

What is your status quo with that auto tuner? No mean to rush you, but i'm curious. Does it work with TBI? Does it adjust spark too or only fuel? Do you mean that you don't have to do anything to the fuel by your self except choose air/fuel-ratio? I think that these has been covered in this thread but i am kind of idiot and could not find answers. Any way when you are ready:1) UN should make you an international super hero and 2) every body all over the world would live in peace and all problems that man kind has would be solved:hail:

lol actually ever since Doug Flynn announced that all new ECUs will come with the PRO upgrade its been sort of pointless for me to continue working with the current software setup.

See soon everyone will have the PRO software which will not be compatible to my program, so this is what im going to do.

Im going to buy the pro-upgrade with the Wideband Controller and Sensor ($750~ish) and from there Ill see what features its lacking in and what departments it needs "help" in, and ill make a program to compensate for it all. Until I get this upgrade though, Im not going to work on my present software anymore.

If you want a copy of the current beta It will be available on my site in a week or 2... Geocities.com/kingtaling

But its not there just yet Im too lazy to upload it right this second. you can email me and Ill send you a copy of the Windows XP version however...

Are ya sure everybodys getting the upgrade?
Now i know why the ecu prices jumped 150$. I was lucky to have asked for a quote on the price some time ago. Now I'm gettin the pro (maybe) version of the ecu for the old price, deals a deal.
And now i know why my parts shop couldn't get a hold of one earlier.

If you have the old firmware you can just send it in for a reflash although I do not know the exact cost. I am currently running the PRO version and it is much better than the previous when used with a wb controller. I have mine tied into my TE WB.

Yes actually, for those who dont know:

I built twin turbo headers / intercoolers / etc.. for my car, upgraded to a 2bar map, and proceeded to run the car like that on the commander 950. then i got dumb and did a roller cam retro fit, which basically led to my motors demise (loss of oil, blah blah blah, blown motor) so...

The entire camaro project has come to a halt... and Im basically ready to sell the car and take a break for a while. thats your update...

Im going to continue some minor-updating here and there of the auto tuner, ill make it available on my WEB SITE: http://www.geocities.com/kingtaling

The source will probably also be available there, if there is enough room for it. mail me Kingtal0n@aol.com with questions.

614streets gave me this link years ago and now that im using the 48# injectors it would be a huge help getting the map straightened back out.

im also going to send you an email

thanks,

Well, it was on there for a while but I kept getting emails for updates to make it work with windows 98, which I planned on doing before I dropped the project, but I didnt want everyone downloading it and screwing things up. if you have a Windows XP computer I can email it to you directly.

on the other hand, the change in injector size is pretty linear in the fuel map. for instance, if you went from 20Lb/Hr injectors to 40Lb/hr you would just take about 50% of fuel off the fuel map.

Re: Auto Tuner for Commander 950

Haha this kind of program is officially obsolete. These days (besides the C950) fueling adjustments can and should be made using other methods... The auto tuner was a temporary fix for the inadequate (shortcomings) of the original Commander 950, BEFORE the pro version was released and it got "better". Right after I released the source code and send the program to Doug Flynn at Holley suddenly the pro version came out and it was no longer necessary so i dropped it.

im going to add all sorts of data logs that the commander is missing like O2 voltage VS rate of tps and a log of the commander's built in Dtps which moves so fast you cant tell what cell it was using the AE enrichment from..

But the main thing is the auto tuner, I will be testing it when i put my motor back together, but to complete it I will need my car running and the O2 mod moving since this is what we are tuning with, moving the O2 mod to a desired place...

from there Ill make it so you can switch to open loop and run by A/F ratio, instead of having the commander do fuel adjustments my program will make them directly to the fuel map, and according to your desired A/F, so if you want a little lean on the highway or a little richer during idle you can do so completelly in open loop, with my program watching the O2 sensor voltage and making adjustments to the fuel map based on what you set it for.

BUT i have no running motor so i dont even know what Wm_msg hits the fuel map text boxs when the pink box moves over it, if somone with the commander 950 would take a screen shot of it while using SPy++ that would be great i could have the program done the same day.

I will be ready to release a beta in a little bit for people to test on their setups, if interested. It is written in VB6, which windows 95 would probably have a problem with some of the API calls and subclassing dll's, i need to test it out on win95-98 however. Right now im going to set the system requirments at windowsXP...
Auto tuning sounds very interesting, though I wonder how and when can we get this program from you? Good luck.
