Wiring with holley dominator ECU
I have a 92 Trans Am, and I 've been waiting forever for a new ecu. I finally got the new holley dominator ecu. The main wiring harness has all the conneictions for the engine compartment so all of that is covered. But I am a little confused in some areas. Do I need to keep any wires from the stock harness? I know one of the connectors from the coil is in there, the wire off of the master cylinder, the sensor on the driver side head, and what about the gauges? Begining to wonder if I'm over my head on this. The new harness has a single wire to power the fuel pump, but I have no idea where to hook up that wire to the fuel pump or how to get power to the rest of the car like the lights, interior all of that stuff. I'm hoping someone on here can offer some help. Getting to the point where I just might sell all this crap and call it quits.

Re: Wiring with holley dominator ECU
Nice choice of ecu, I've read lots of good things about Holley's new systems. Even though you are getting a new ecu, you still need to retain most of your factory wiring. The dominator will control everything on the engine/trans, but not things like lighting and gauges.
When I installed the commander 950 ecu, I left the old computer in the car. I traced the factory wires to see which ones were needed and removed ones that the 950 made obsolete. I would've rather have a few extra wires than found out something didn't work later on.
For the fuel pump wire, I ran that directly to the + connector of the fuel pump. It should say in the manual what to do and whether or not you need a relay in between.
I'd direct any future questions to the guys over on chevytalk.org. There's a few who already installed the new Holley systems and can probably help you out.
