turbos an timing

I have a turbo grand prix with the 3.1 intercooled turbo 8f.For some reason I love to play with this car.(It's got ***** for a v-6)Lately I been messin with the timing.I'm runnin 12 psi of boost and the map sensor puts me at or arround 4.5v at wot. That should put me at or very close to 180 kpa correct? At this point the stock timing at 180kpa is 15.12 from 4400 and up with less than that at lower rpms.My question is on the average how much timing can you give a turbo motor.I know to give the car what it wonts but before I jump in head first I would like a lil advice on what you turboed guys are runnin for timing at wot.The car seems to run better a half throttle than full throttle The only difference I can find is the timing at half throttle is 30 but once i stab it to the floor it falls back to 15 and slows down Whatcha ya guys think?Thanks...Adam

That should be corrected before you tinker in the PROM.

There are allot of issues to make sure are correct before making any HP in a T/C application. First is fuel, enough pump, enough voltage for the pump, and injector sizing.
Then is backpressure, you have to be able to decent exhaust flow.
Then intake restriction.
While those items are important in a N/A application, they're terribly critical in a Turbo application.

then you want to make sure you AFRs are close (ie you need a Wide Band), and EGT guage. Not to mention being able to read the plugs for ANY signs of detonation.

With that said, I typically run about 22d, at ~25 PSI of boost. I also have a large F/M intercooler, and can run more timing with the alky injection on.

This a 3.8L, GN, TA-62 Turbo, 60 PPH injectors, Alkycontrol, Cotton's F/M.

The 8F is about as complex as you can get for what it does.
