tcc issues

I have searched the subject and come up with little answers.

My vehicle has a 3000 stall. In it I was running the ARAP tables for tcc lockup, in both low and 4th. The vehicle locked at 35 mph and would unlock in between 3rd and 4th, but wouldnt unlock under acceleration unless I was damn near at WOT. I didn't really like how early it locked up, or how it would only unlock at wide open. So after a little bit of research I decided I wanted it to lockup at a cruise speed above 40 and unlock at maybe 50% or more throttle.

TCC unlock speed vs % TPS (Not in 4th):
0.39 0.39 4.69 14.84 23.83 30.86 36.72 40.63 42.58 44.14 44.92 45.70

TCC lock speed vs % TPS (Not in 4th):
0.78 5.08 19.92 28.91 35.94 41.80 45.70 48.83 50.00 50.00 50.00 50.00

TCC unlock speed vs % TPS (In 4th):
0.39 0.39 8.98 21.88 33.98 44.14 57.03 76.17 89.06 96.88 96.88 96.88

TCC lock speed vs % TPS (In 4th):
0.78 7.81 19.92 41.41 54.69 71.09 87.89 99.61 99.61 99.61 99.61 99.61

I also changed my low speed limit for low gear unlock to lock (i assume thats what mph in 3rd it will lock up at minimum?) to 40 and my high gear to 50.

Everything else related to the TCC is from ARAP. however, a drive confirmed that now it wont lockup at all. cruising at 60 mph, 75mph, it never locks.
Any suggestions would be very helpful.

for the tables that I mentioned above and at the mph listed, will it only lockup if the % TPS matches that? Does that mean I will need to datalog the various MPHs and see what my tps% is so that I can fine tune this?

the tps% comparision is not a "equals" comparion, but rather just a greater than / less than comparison.

In english:

if the converter is locked, it will REMAIN locked until the tps% goes ABOVE the lock threshold.

if the conver is not locked, it will REMAIN not locked until the tps% goes BELOW the unlock threshold.

there are of course other factors which control the TCC, but that's how these 4 tables work.

according to my $32B in tunercat, there are two other spots in addition to the "X gear unlock to lock" values you mentioned below (the "lock to unlock" values). actually my tunercat variable definition names don't match yours, but that's ok, i assume you're not using TC. anyhow, did you update these corresponding values as well? let us know what all four of these values in your BIN are.

edit: i realize ARAP is $6e, but since I dont run anything on arap, the closest thing I have is $32b to peek at.

I figured it out. I finally got ahold my friend who originally tuned it...I wanted my shift light to come on when the TCC locked (good for making sure its locked) and i had the "Use Shift Lamp to control TCC" box checked. Apparently, that makes the computer lock the tcc when it would tell the driver to shift up in a manual trans. However, in the code it also said "force shift light on above 80% tps"...so, in that when im cruising im not at 80% tps, the converter wasnt locking. Unchecking that box made it work. Thanks for your help anyway and your explanation was very helpful.
