redundant headlight motor, did search, help...

Hey, I tried searching, didn't find too much. The left headlight motor on my 88 GTA has been over-running, like when it goes up and down, when its in position, it will still run for a lil while longer, very very rare I either have to tap the light take make it go up or down, but not too often. Anything I could do to prevent this? or am I on borrowed time until the motor completely fails? Thanks, and anyone know how to repair the motor, I thought someone wrote a tech article couldn't find it

Sounds like the gearing is bad and worn so it runs cause it didnt reach its limit yet, or the limit switch in the control module is bad. If the module is bad and its making the motor run extra then that will proabably wear the gearing out too.

Heres a link for repair.

Sounds like it is on its last legs before it needs the standard repair. Symptoms sound similar to mine before they quit altogether.
