Painless Wiring?

Axle/Gears: 02 SS Rear with 3.23 Gears
Painless Wiring?
has anyone done a painless harness or something of the sort. i removed everywire in the car and i would love to put all new back in. i can get a painless kit for aroud $300. any input, good or bad, would be great. thanks guys Patrick

Did it, ended up removing it and installing a stock 91 chassis harness and modifying / blending the engine harness to work with my motor, hacked up that $300 harness from them for spare wire, cant beat the factory bulkhead connector etc when it comes down to it.

sounds like a good way to go with the factory setup. thanks for the input, looks like i'll put the factory wires back in( took it all out without a single cut.(proud of that, too hehehe) thanks am

I installed a painless wire harness and have not had any problems with it. The harness is clearly marked for each wire with a tag. Harness is well made and is much easier that a stock harness from a used car. The wires from painless are excellant quality and is easy to install.

Agreed, got a paniless TPI harness and had no problems with it at all.
Then about a year later got another painless harness (18 circuit GM) to go into an MGB, worked out great.

The biggest problem with the factory harness is its age. I've seen a ton of electrical gremlins that resulted from nothing more that a bad connector or some chaffed wire. I'm not saying don't re-use the stock harness, though. If you do go through it carefully and inspect all the sockets and connectors. Replace anything that looks questionable. Waterless hand cleaner works great for removing grease and goo from wiring.
I have no doubt that the Painless harness is top quality. I've used several of their products, and have always been very happy with the quality.
